Launching Journeytopic and getting to 10k MaU

Journeytopic is a platform that allows groups of people with similar interests to start journeys to their life goals.

You can take steps towards your goals alone but not in isolation. We're trying to create communities to cheer you on in your journeys, and a community where you can inspire people with the steps you take.

Journeytopic is not finished by any means, I've written why I decided to make it public nonetheless here. I wish to be seen taking steps towards building a complete platform.

Updates

I've been fixing little issues around registration and email for the past few days.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Django. On the one hand, it is incredibly powerful and contains a ton of features, on the other hand, it ... err ... contains a ton of features. Sometimes I wis... See post details

Just as I've been preparing to do since yesterday, I've now posted Journeytopic Hackernews - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42277114

How different from Reddit?

Hi, sorry for the late reply ... I've had to implement a basic comment reply functionality so I can reply to your comment. To your question. The idea is that we can have different communities of people who care about processes as much as they care about outcomes. For example. If I have a personal target of hitting $500k in investment portfolios, the goal is to have a platform where I can document my journey to hitting this goal, rather than a place to make a generic "I have just achieved my life goal" post.

Related to this topic, I expect this platform will be a lot more niche than Reddit - it is not a place for general conversations.
